Transit to Singapore

Guam to Nagoya

After crashing at my Guam AirBNB, I had to get up bright and early for the last series of my flights to Singapore before settling for a few days. I was excited for this element of my trip as my business class flights on my itinerary would start today.

The first of which would be a United flight from Guam to Nagoya. Because the United staff had a bit of trouble dealing with my complex ticket in Hawaii, I arrived extra early. The staff did need some time, but after about 20 minutes they issued my boarding pass and I was quickly through security.

Boarding went smoothly and the business class cabin only had three of us in it, so it was a very comfortable ride. The seats were comfortable and I settled in for the 3 hour flight to Japan. The flight served breakfast which was tasty. After the meal I settled in for a quick nap and before long we were landing into Nagoya..

Peering into the cloudscape offered amazing views which helped pass the time.

Nagoya Star Alliance Lounge

I had a two hour layover before my next flight, so I popped into the Star Alliance Lounge. Even though I wasn’t able to make my way into Japan to get some awesome food, the lounge did have a host of great Japanese offerings which I partook in.

EVA Business Class Nagoya to Taipei

After an hour or so I headed to the gate where I boarded my EVA air flight to Taipei. I’ve been really excited to try the EVA air business class product and it did not disappoint.

This was the Business class on their new 787 Dreamliner and the pods were extremely spacious and super comfortable.

On top of that the menu selection for both food and beverages were top notch. I had the option of a Japanese or Chinese lunch and I opted for the Japanese one. It was spectacular.

After watching a movie, I went into lie flat mode for a very comfortable nap.

Taipei and “The Infinity” Lounge

In Taipei, I had another two hour layover and I headed straight for the EVA lounge called “The Infinity“. I’d read it was a fun lounge to be in and it wasn’t too bad. There was a good amount of food and beverage options and I sampled a few things before heading to my gate.

Singapore Business Class Taipei to Singapore

My final flight for the day was the Singapore airlines flight to Singapore. I was also eagerly anticipating this flight since I’d heard so much about their business class product. The seat is modern and also setup quite nicely.

The food is also very tasty so no complaints there.

Though push come to shove, between the two I enjoyed the EVA flight more than this SQ flight.

After arriving in Singapore, I was able to clear custom’s pretty quickly. I was a little worried about Coronavirus screening, but they were very efficient with temperature screenings and before I knew it I was in my Grab heading to my hotel.

It’d been a very long day(s) of travelling and upon getting checked into my hotel, I quickly showered and crashed for a good nights rest. The first full night of rest since leaving Vancouver.
